October 2026 | Aspen Fall Colors

This is a rather unique offering in that I arrived in Aspen on September 18th and will be here until October 15th to once again experience this miraculous sight of the colors changing from their summer green to hues of orange, gold, yellow and reds that take my breath away. I must admit that I only became aware of the color change here in Aspen from seeing photographs in local magazines. While having a place here I concentrated on the winter months for skiing. But, 10 years ago I started making a special trip for this very special time of year. The first 2 photos were taken with my iphone today to share with you 2 trees that have been changing color before my eyes. These trees are right outside the deck at my residence. The other photos reflect many locations here in Aspen, some of which I return in both winter, summer, and fall. The Aspen tree is most noted and as well they should be. In town and all over the valleys you witness the delicate glistening, shimmering and flickering in the breeze. It’s important to mention that the entire impact of this spectacular event is well complimented with stunning displays of the Cottonwoods, Boxelder, and those gorgeous red Walnut trees. I will be adding photos from this trip to the Aspen Collection upon my return, always striving to improve on my offerings of photography. Enjoy!

Welcome Dillinger Weldz

As this months featured artist. I have known Dillinger for over 7 years and still can’t get over the many gifts and talents he possesses. His talents as a sculptor have really blossomed in the last 2 years and I have been so impressed by his creations that I needed to share them with you. Please carefully read his bio and I hope you enjoy just a sample of his work!

FEATURED ARTIST - Dillinger Weldz

Dillinger grew up in Laurel Canyon and the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, and he was raised in a house built on ideas. He was raised by John Hospers, a longtime professor in the philosophy department at USC and, in 1972, the first presidential candidate of the Libertarian Party. Dinner-table conversation ran to ethics, freedom, and how to live by your own design. Dillinger took the lesson and made it physical.

First it was music. "Music is my religion," he says, and from 1995 to 2000 he lived it as a bass player out of Hollywood, signed to Geffen Records and Sony/Columbia Records. He toured the United States and internationally, sharing stages with Goo Goo Dolls, Sugar Ray, Goldfinger, and Neurotic Outsiders, and played the Vans Warped Tour from 1995 through 1999. His recorded work includes "Get a Job," the title song of the 1996 film Black Sheep, starring Chris Farley and David Spade.

After the road came the set. Dillinger spent a decade with the camera crew on Food Network productions including Cake Boss, Cake Wars, Halloween Wars, Next Great Baker, Christmas Cookie Matchup, Food Truck Race, and Restaurant Express, along with VH1's Couples Therapy. Before that he worked in art departments on commercials for Dunkin' Donuts, Mike's Hard Lemonade, and others.

Since 2005 he has been welding. Working first out of Laurel Canyon then Venice, then working in an art collective in Downtown LA, he was ‘discovered’ and he started building commissioned pieces for private clients and fellow artists: candelabra, sconces, furniture, and original wrought iron fences and gates. Today he works from his home base in Laguna Beach, making metal and wood sculptures inspired by nature, among them Tree of Crosses, Life's Rose, Monolith, Heaven and Hell, Sea Monkey, and Praying Mantis. Every piece is welded by hand for collectors and clients across Orange County and Southern California.
